"No haircut for me, thanks."

The $15 billion bailout bill for Detroit's "Big 3" automakers died in the Senate. Why? Democrats are pointing to the political posturing of "conservative, southern senators" and the failure of the White House to get Republicans on board. Conversely, Republicans are pointing to the inability of Democrats to control one of their largest voting constituencies - organized labor. Both parties are generally right, so who's wrong? UAW President Ron Gettelfinger and his union brethren, who flat out refused to even consider wage concessions in 2009 in order to receive $15 billion of taxpayer money.
